After having begun to embroider blackwork I wanted to experiment a little more with the different techniques. So far I have made these samples.

May theme - Blackwork 

I think my ambition is too high compared to the time I have available. I started this embroidery with a reversible design in Blackwork with it has taken longer than I had expected. The idea was that it should be the flip of a small bag, once I am finished.

I have previously designed and sewn Blackwork motives because I like the motives are reversible.

Last year I designed this purse in Assisi embroidery and Blackwork for Nyborg Castle to their Museum Shop.

Sol over Jelling Seminarium

Efter en vel overstået eksamen på seminariet, benyttede jeg lejligheden til at gå en tur omkring Jellinge stenene. Jeg har undret mig over at det efter at stenene er kommet på UNESCO’s liste over bevaringsværdige monomenter har været nødvendigt at sætte dem i glasmonter - kan sten ikke kan tåle at stå ude…?

Men luft forureningen har åbenbart gjort sit, for billedsiderne var noget mere forvitrede end jeg husker dem fra min barndoms skoleudflugter, så nej sten kan ikke tåle at stå ude længere…

2014 Needlequest Challenge 4

April theme - Spring

For April's challenge, I have embroidered water lilies. They are embroidered on denim with DMC-moliné yarn. 

The subject I have found in Ellen Marie Rodil’s small embroidery book “Fantasi I Broderi”.

I have attached the embroidery as a messenger bag.

2014 Needlequest Challenge 3

Marts Topics - Goldwork

I had planned to participate in Needlequest Challenge 3 by finishes this piece of goldwork, which I have kept lying around the last couple of years – but I ran out of time.

Instead I found a couple of goldwork buttons at Historicum.dk, they only cost 23 kr. about 3 € apiece, so they must do it out for the March Challenge so far.
